Catepillar Card

Materials For Each Child:
1 piece of 3" x 9" construction paper
1 straw and 1 small envelope
half a carrot
green tempera paint in a shallow tray
black fine-tip marker

Class Preparations:
Accordion-fold the construction paper into six sections for each child. Cut carrots in half.

Directions
1. Dip the carrot in the green paint and print a circle on each section of the paper for the catepillar's head and body.
2. Print grass along the bottom of the paper using the side of the straw.
3. Use a fine-tip marker to draw eyes, a nose, and antennae on the caterpillar's head.
4. Print a caterpillar head on an envelope and draw on eyes, a nose, and antennae.


Friendly Snake

Materials For Each Child:
1 red construction-paper forked tongue
1 sheet of 9" x 12" white construction paper
small jar lid
building blocks
2 wiggle eyes
tempera paints in shallow trays
glue

Class Preparations:

Cut a red construction-paper forked toungue for each child

Directions:
1. Use the jar lid to print overlapping circles in the shape of a snake on the paper. You could use the top of the lid to print a solid shape, or the bottom to print an outline.
2. Allow to dry.
3. Use building blocks to print colorful patterns on top of your snake; then allow to dry.
4. Glue a tongue and wiggle eyes on your snake.
